The Sayre Foundation funds a variety of projects that align with our mission and purpose.

Evangelism & Church Planting

Details

The Sayre Foundation partners with organizations dedicated to spreading the good news and establishing new faith communities. Through these partnerships, we aim to support local teams to reach new areas and foster spiritual growth in these various communities.

Holistic Ministries

Details

The Sayre Foundation partners with organizations that focus not only on addressing spiritual needs but, also, on the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our neighbors. Such examples include the homeless, imprisoned, sick, and disabled.

Leadership Development

Details

The Sayre Foundation partners with organizations that focus on equipping and empowering church leaders to effectively serve lead their communities.

Children & Youth

Details

The Sayre Foundation partners with organizations that focus on education, mentorship, and life-skill training for children and youth to grow. Additionally, we work with organizations that address nutrition, healthcare, and emotional support to break cycles of poverty and disadvantage.

Local Community

Details

We work to be good Samaritans for people in our own community of Northeast Ohio. To accomplish our goal we aim to partner with organizations that work with the most vulnerable populations in this geographical area.

International

Details

We strive to support U.S.-based nonprofit organizations that take the gospel internationally, seeking unreached places to serve and share the good news. Through these trusted partners, we provide resources to help expand their reach, strengthen their impact, and bring hope to communities around the world.

What We Don't Fund

The Sayre Foundation has established clear criteria and a dedicated blog page to help nonprofits understand the areas we typically fund. As a biblically based foundation, our approach to giving is rooted in Christian principles, which guide our commitment to supporting organizations that align with these values.

IF YOUR PROJECT FALLS INTO ONE OF THESE CATEGORIES, IT DOES NOT FIT WITH OUR FUNDING MISSION and will not be considered.

1. Projects that are political in nature

2. Startup Businesses

3. Fiscally sponsored projects

4. non-u.s. international organizations

Requirements

The following is a list of the required documents to be attached to all application submissions

  • Copy of the Internal Revenue Service ruling or determination letter of status under Section 501(c)(3) and 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code
  • Financial statements and/or Form 990 for prior year
  • Recent Bank Statement
  • Current financial statements (balance sheet and operating statement)
  • Detailed budget for the program/project for which the grant is being requested
  • List of organization’s current board members
  • IRS Determination letter

How To Apply

The request process includes the following steps:

  • Visit the Sayre Foundation portal using the “Apply Now” button in the header
  • Start your application with our short form
  • Create a new user account or use your existing account (for previously registered portal account users)
  • Access your Portal
  • Request Access to your application in your portal.
  • Complete and submit your LOI application when given access to our portal

 

All applications must be submitted through the Sayre Foundation portal. Once in the application portal, you will be able to save and return to your application.

A reference copy of all application questions is provided for your review. We encourage applicants to gather all required information before beginning the application. All applications must be submitted online through the Foundation’s portal.
